Outfit Flashback: Rachel Francois

I hate to admit it, but I've been rather less than impressed with the way interns dress for my office. There's a very thin line between what's accepted or appropriate and what isn't at a creative office. And most of the time the interns, on brands different from mine, come to the office looking as if they're trying to tempt a man, show their extreme avant-garde side, or simply rolled out of bed.

So you can imagine my shock and pleasure when I peeped intern Rachel Francois's flyness! I will admit that I was giving her side-eye, in a good way, as I tried to soak up every outfit detail while she sat at the interns desk. Eventually I worked up the nerve to introduce myself (my shyness is often confused with bitchiness or indifference) and of course compliment her look. Rachel was very warm, if not a little surprised that I was stalking her sartorial expression. And I was ecstatic that she agreed to be featured here on Fetching Rejects!

I'm a simple girl when it comes to the basics of a look -- jeans or pants are often victorious and a tank that shows some femininity is always a win. So I'm sure it's quite obvious why I was all over Rachel's outfit. I love how she used one of the hottest colors of the season, oxblood, and amped up the look with an awesome shoe and fabulous accessories. Although all her pieces look smashing together, each one could be the standout addition to another look. That's why I always champion basics, basics, basics!

OK I'm sure you're sick of me yapping on and on. Here are the deets on Rachel's Outfit Flashback:

Top & pants: H&M
Necklace: bought at Henri Bendel
Jewelry: Alex & Ani Friendship Bracelet
Booties: Opening Ceremony, bought during the Barney's New York Warehouse Sale

Rachel's thoughts on her look:

"I wanted to achieve this season's monochromatic trend, and did so with the very fall color of burgundy, which I accented with gold jewelry for a sleek look."

And she was definitely successful!
